Heyeah, mopeds as in with pedals. I have a few ranging from the mid 70's to the early 80's. I'm having trouble posting pics.. maybe someone can chime in.. do I need an image host?

I don't have any scooters but am obsessed with mopeds. Ha, I challenge you to change my mind... anyway I look forward to meet you peeps. Lets ride! Mr. Starsky and hutch (formal name until we meet:) Let me tell you that my scooter is a supremely handy transporter. Between the large floorboard, underseat pet carrier and my new top box I made it home from the market with over $70 worth of groceries!! Also, it is really fun just exploring the city without pedaling. Any change? gottascoot P.S. Please don't challenge me to a race! PPS Imageshack seems to do the trick too. Just upload your photo to host then copy and paste the location (or URL) of the photo between the two brackets which will appear in your post after you click insert image.

Thank you gottascoot and chvylvr! I'll open an account and share my pictures soon. Haha I don't rely on pedaling to get around.. just to start the motor and yes my bikes are probably slower than most decent scooters..I do have one bike built to the hilt that might keep up.. wanna find out?? There is one scooter I have my eye on... Aprilia SR50R. Any one have any feedback on such a beast? A bit spendy but should be well crafted and quick in stock form. I’d like learn more about Minerelli clones and which units they were available in. I think 2T is the only way to go. My name is Jed BTW good to meet you!

I think you misunderstand me. I don't want to race you because your moped may be faster than my scooter! My red scooter is so slow you could probably pedal up a steep hill faster than me with your engine off! I like it anyway. If you find one of those SR 50's beware. Someone may slap you if you put a top box on there and try to get groceries with such a machine. I believe you are correct about the 2 strokes being the way to go. I have one of each and the fun factor is a big deal. gottascoot

BTW great picture of your scoot with the fireworks.. Yeah this bike was last winters project. It was a basket case I found in STL and was completely stripped down. I ground off all of the unused brackets and powdercoated. The motor was bored, welded, and ported for a 74cc Gilardoni Cylinder, Mikuni tm 24, v force reeds, and a '50 pontiac tail light... I went overboard and spend more time cleaning it than I do riding.. maybe it does need a milk crate strapped to the back?!

Thanks, It is one of my photos from the 4th and combined with another photo of my scoot, weeks apart. Not too sure about the milk crate idea, but hey go for it.
