I bought a used scooter that wound not start. I turns out that the safety swith on the kick stand was bad. Caused no spark! the carb jets were pluged. after 3 tries to clean them I got it to idle. but no acceleration, so I bought a new carb, flushed the tank, and new fuel. the new carb should have a larger main jet .
This thing is running out of fuel! but fuel is steady going to the carb.
Im guessing that the float level is wrong are the main jet is clogged !
Ps: the last owner replaced the "CPI" mod but its still the black one
Help if you have any ideas!

First off the "CPI" that the p/o put on there should be replaced with a real "CDI" I am just wondering if it has good compression. Maybe the engine compression is getting worse after warming up a bit and causing it to die? Just thought. gottascoot

I have not had much of a chance to work on the scooter. I think i'm going to swap the carb from my other scooter to this one, but it wont happen until Saturday. Do these scooters have anything that controls the spark timing advance? BTW I did mean CDI not CPI sorry.

Yep the cdi does. Sounds like your out of tune. If it bogs at wot and you can let out of just bit and it get better than your rich but you may be either way to rich or lean pull then plug and see what color it also what size jet was in and what setup is is it all stock and what kind of motor.

Well i solve the scooter prob. sorta, Its in the carb . I took the carb off my other scooter that was just wrecked. its running good on this beast!
I now assume that the new carb needs a bigger Jet ! its should have a 92 main now. So what size should a stock 49cc gy6 have ? No mods , factory airbox and exhaust.

A 64? You know better than that! Most gy6 49 ship with a 72, but run well on a 78-80. If you go to a 20mm carb with a stock box, you will have to run about a 90. With an aftermarket filter, a 105.

Well the New 20mm Carb has a #78 stamped on it! Bummer that I was told that it came with a #95!

Well a #88 jet in the new 20mm carb helped a little, but nothing that you trust to ride for any time! I installed a #85 jet in the OEM carb and now its running good!
